About the Event
Join Geshe Sonam and John Jackson for a powerful day-long workshop drawing on ancient Tibetan meditation practices to help you stay grounded through internal and external conflict.
Modern life often feels like a cycle of stress and reactivity. Tibet’s Bön tradition has offered solutions to similar challenges for centuries. For the first time in recent decades, these practices are being taught in the West, providing tools to improve presence, reduce reactivity, and cultivate compassion.
This workshop introduces foundational practices, including the 9-round breath, calm-staying exercises, and meditations to foster a compassionate approach toward others. These techniques teach you to recognize your reactions, manage expectations, and respond to life’s challenges with inner peace.
Meet the Leaders:
Geshe Sonam Gurung, a master of Tibetan Bön tradition, trained under His Holiness the 33rd Menri Trizin. He has translated key sacred texts and oversees the Mustang Cultural and Education Center in Nepal.
John Jackson, an experienced meditation practitioner and teacher of 45+ years, has led nearly 100 retreats across 13 countries under the guidance of renowned Tibetan masters.
Your Host:
Debby Kirkman, director of the Mustang Bon Foundation and an organizer of meditation retreats and teachings with Geshe Sonam, will guide the event.
A light vegetarian lunch will be provided for in-person participants.
Cultivate presence, foster compassion, and transform reactivity into mindful responses. Reserve your spot today!
